Biotechnology Department Participates in National Tree Planting Day Activities

As part of the National Tree Planting Day events, and under the patronage of the Head of the Department of Applied Sciences, Professor Dr. Raed Abdul Wahab Ismail, and with the follow-up of the Administrative Assistant to the Department Head, Professor Dr. Odi Mohsen Naif, and the supervision of the Head of the Biotechnology Branch, Professor Dr. Ali Abdul Rahman Taha, faculty members from the Biotechnology Branch, in collaboration with the branch’s staff and students, participated in the activities of National Tree Planting Day.

The event aimed to support sustainable development goals and combat desertification. It included several aspects, such as workshops on the importance of tree planting, planting saplings and perennial plants in gardens near the department, distributing tree seeds to attendees, and displaying awareness posters on preserving plant cover and reducing desertification.

It is worth mentioning that December 3rd of each year has been designated as “National Tree Planting Day” following the approval of the Prime Minister and according to the letter issued by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Department of Research and Development, and the Department of Entrepreneurial Project Management.
