The Branch of Laser Science and Technology organizes an art festival and a handicrafts bazaar.

As part of the University’s Golden Jubilee celebrations, marking fifty years since the founding of the University of Technology, and under the direct guidance of Professor Dr. Raid Abdul Wahab Ismail, Head of the Branch of Applied Sciences, the Laser Science and Technology Branch organized an Art Festival and a Handicrafts Bazaar.

The event was supervised by Assistant Professor Dr. Alaa Abdul Jabbar Hussein, Assistant Professor Dr. Mayada Hameed Mohsen, and Assistant Lecturer Ali Hatim Atta Allah. It took place between the department’s two main buildings and witnessed wide participation from students across all branches of the department.

The festival featured voluntary art activities, including live sketching and the exhibition of pre-drawn artworks. Additionally, the handicrafts bazaar showcased handmade creations by female students from both the Biotechnology and Laser Science and Technology branches, with major contributions from the Rowad Al-Khair Charity Foundation.

After the event, Professor Dr. Hassan Rasheed Ubaies, Assistant Head of the Department for Scientific Affairs and representative of the Head of the Department, presented certificates of appreciation to the organizers and distributed awards to the winners of the voluntary art contest.
