
Applied Physics Holds a Workshop on First Aid


The Applied Physics Department organized a workshop on first aid in collaboration with the Irtiqa Center for Community Development, one of the civil society organizations. The workshop was supervised by the Head of the Applied Sciences Department, Prof. Dr. Raid Abdul Wahab Ismail, with direct follow-up from the Head of the Applied Physics Branch, Prof. Dr. Uday Mahmoud Abdul-Hussein. It was attended by the Assistant Head of the Department for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Hassan Rashid Abis, and the Assistant Head of the Department for Administrative Affairs, Prof. Dr. Uday Mohsen Naif.
The workshop covered several key topics, including: “What is first aid?”, “How to contact emergency services?” and “How to respond to cases of electric shock, drowning, epileptic seizures, choking, and nosebleeds.” The trainer, Soran Hossam Ali, explained in detail the procedures a first aider should follow to effectively assist an injured person and minimize risks until professional medical help arrives.
At the conclusion of the workshop, Prof. Dr. Hassan Rashid Abis, representing the Head of the Applied Sciences Department, distributed certificates of appreciation to the Head of the Irtiqa Center for Community Development and all supervisors and organizers of the workshop.
