The Department of Applied Sciences ranks first among science faculties in Iraq.

The results of the Times Higher Education World University Rankings by Subject for 2025 have been announced, with the Department of Applied Sciences securing first place among science faculties in Iraq and ranking 601-800 globally among science faculties.

This achievement is a remarkable and well-deserved recognition of the department’s distinguished scientists, researchers, and innovators across its various specializations.

The Head of the Department of Applied Sciences, Prof. Dr. Raid Abdul Wahab Ismail, stated:
“This achievement is a humble contribution from our department to our beloved country, Iraq, and our esteemed university. We extend our sincere gratitude and appreciation to the university administration for its unwavering support and continuous encouragement.”

He also congratulated the faculty members, staff, and students of the department, emphasizing that they have every right to be proud of their department, which has attained this prestigious ranking through their exceptional efforts in their respective fields.
