About the branch
Establishment of the branch
The Mathematics Department (currently Mathematics and Computer Applications) was established in 1976 as part of the Department of Applied Sciences. The duration of the program was initially four years, and it was named the “Applied Mathematics Branch” at the time. In the academic year 2014-2015, the curriculum was revised to include courses related to computer applications, leading to the renaming of the department to “Mathematics and Computer Applications.” Graduates of the department receive a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Mathematics and Computer Applications. They are scientifically proficient in teaching mathematics at schools, institutes, and universities, as well as in computer labs in both public and private universities. They can also work as programmers, accountants in government and private banks, data entry clerks, data analysts, or statisticians in government agencies and the private sector.
